This past weekend was graduation at Dartmouth, and Tuck’s Investiture ceremony was held Saturday afternoon on the steps of Tuck Hall under a brilliant blue sky. Watching the Class of 2012 cross the stage, I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. I have such fond memories of meeting so many of them on the road three or four years ago, and now it feels like my babies are leaving the nest. We talk a lot about the Tuck community and what it means for the student experience getting to know your classmates so well, but the size and close-knit Tuck community allows the staff to get to know the students well too. One of the best things about my job is the number of students, and now alums, I consider friends. So while I am sad to see the Class of 2012 go, I am excited for them and know I will reconnect with many of them on my travels this fall. I am also looking forward to having the Class of 2014 arrive in August. I enjoyed meeting them as they were applying and can’t wait to have them on campus. Finally, the new recruiting cycle has just started, and I am eager to start meeting the future Class of 2015. Then, in a blink of an eye, they will be the ones walking across the stage!
