Happy New Year, everyone! We have been away from Tuck for 3 weeks now and I have definitely been missing it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been so much fun being back home and getting to spend some quality time with the family and just relaxing after a pretty busy Fall term. But, life outside of Tuck is just not the same – I think we all crave that constant stimulation and having more things to do than we have time for. The people are pretty great too.
I’m looking at my calendar for the next several weeks and trying to get things in order so that I can quickly hit the ground running when I’m back at school. Recruiting will be the dominating force of most of our schedules this January, but along with that we have tons of fun social events planned in the months ahead. The first weekend we are back, approximately 200 Tuckies will head up to Canada for the annual Montreal trip, Tuck’s largest school-wide event on international soil. We will be there to cheer on our A, B, and Women’s All Star Ice Hockey teams as they compete against the Molson School of Business, while also raising money for charity and soaking up some French Canadian culture in the meantime. The weekend after Montreal, we have the Diva Party, the hottest party of the year and proceeds of which go to support The Trevor Project (I still have to figure out my costume for that).
We also have our Winter Formal and then Tuck Winter Carnival coming up shortly thereafter. The Winter Formal this year will be held at Killington Resort, where we will enjoy a day or 2 of skiing and then an awesome party planned by our Social Chairs on Saturday night. Winter Carnival is a much anticipated annual event where Tuck invites several other business schools to Hanover to compete in ski races and other fun winter activities. There is also an 80s ski gear auction as well as dance party, in true Tuck fashion, of course. Speaking of Killington though, I still need to figure out when I’ll go snowboarding to fully take advantage of our student discount season passes! I can’t wait to get back.
Good luck and all the best for the New Year!
