Two Yale SOM graduates are named to the “annual encyclopedia of creative disruption.”

Every week, accomplished alumni and other leaders visit Edward P. Evans Hall at the invitation of student clubs, sharing career advice and insights into their industries. Here are a few of the speakers who visited the school during the week of October 30.

Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who serves as the chair of the YPFS advisory board; former Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson; and former Fed chair Ben Bernanke will lead the effort to gather first-hand accounts of decisions made by “first responders” during the financial crisis of 2008.

Students in the Mastering Influence and Persuasion course set out to see how far they could get trading for bigger and better stuff.

“Mike Erwin never envisioned himself as a social entrepreneur or activist. Yet in 2012, he found himself the CEO of an organization with 15,000 members and 34 chapters reaching from Syracuse, NY to Houston, TX.”

Shiller, the Sterling Professor of Economics and professor of finance, received the Truman Medal for Economic Policy from the Truman Library & Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 23, recognizing his “his work analyzing U.S. residential real estate prices and as a developer of financial and behavioral economic policy and practice.”
